ABOUT

Alexa Rae is a drummer, music educator, and producer from San Diego, California. At age 9, she moved into a house with a piano and she taught herself how to play. When she was 16 years old, Alexa needed a change in musicianship so she joined her High School's concert band percussion section and began to learn how to play the drums. Even though Alexa had a later start compared to the rest of her classmates, that did not stop her from her passion. She was practicing non-stop in order to catch up to the sections level so she ended up taking private drum lessons.

By the time Alexa was 18 years old, she went to community college originally as a business major, but found herself uninterested and decided to study music technology. For her 19th birthday, Alexa finally got her first drum set to practice on. She joined her first female rock band that same year and played many gigs. Over time, she developed an ear for creating beats and producing music. She has an associates degree in music technology and has a Bachelor's in Music Production from Berklee College of Music.

Alexa has played in a lot of groups. Currently she resides in Orange County and gigs with artists based in the LA and OC area.
