Alexa Rae is a drummer, music educator, and producer from San Diego, California. At age 9, she moved into a house with a piano and she taught herself how to play. When she was 16 years old, Alexa needed a change in musicianship so she joined her High School's concert band percussion section and began to learn how to play the drums. Even though Alexa had a later start compared to the rest of her classmates, that did not stop her from her passion. She was practicing non-stop in order to catch up to the sections level so she ended up taking private drum lessons.

By the time Alexa was 18 years old, she went to community college originally as a business major, but found herself uninterested and decided to study music technology. She joined her first female rock band that same year and played many gigs. Over time, she developed an ear for creating beats and producing music. She has an associates degree in music technology and has a Bachelor's in Music Production from Berklee College of Music.

Alexa has been in a total of seven bands. She is currently in The Pumps, a pop rock band with all female members. Alexa does freelance session drum work and performs gigs for bands in need of a drummer. Over the past few years, she has built a big audience on her social media and has made numerous connections.
